D.C.M. (GV) (Fl. Sjt. R.F.C.), A.F.M. (GV) (S.M.1) (R.A.F.) to H.A. Gamon
D.C.M. L.G. 1/1/1917 citation L.G. 13/2/1917 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. He worked extremely long hours under arduous conditions, and has maintained throughout a high standard.'
A.F.M. L.G. 12/7/1920. The recommendation stated 'For excellent work carried out undervery difficult circumstances, during their flight from England to Egypt in July and August 1919. It was largely owing to their keeness and devotion to duty that made the flight so successful.'
These were pioneering flights intended to open the routes for commercial flights which commenced in 1920.
