Fredk. Peel, 34th. Regt.), Turkish Crimea, Sardinian issue , To Capt. T. Peel. 34th. Regt. Al Valore citation  'For cool and gallant conduct at the assault on the Redan on the 18th June 1855, on which occasion he was wounded'. Capt. 1859, ret. 1861. At the assault the regiment suffered severely losing 4 officers killed and six wounded plus 43 other ranks killed and over 160 wounded
