Killed in action, Telegraph Hill,  Arras, 23/4/1917, during strong enemy counter-attacks, no known grave commemorated . Son of  Jane Wallace of 29 William Street, Seaham Harbour County Durham.

D.C.M. L.G. 20/11/1916. award for Bazentin -le-Petit (Somme) 25-26/9/1916

'For conspicuous gallantry in action. He extinguished  a fire  in an ammunition  store and removed the ammunition at great personal risk, thereby saving many lives.'
