Afghanistan clasp Ali Musjid  (2. Lieut. 4th Battn. Rif. Bde.), Queen's Sudan (Major, 2/Rif. Bde.), Q.S.A. 3 clasps, O.F.S. Tr. S.A.1902 (Lieut. Col. Rif. Bde.),  B.W.M. Victory (Brig. Gen.), Khedives Sudan, clasp Khartoum (unnamed as issued)

Brig. General G.F. Leslie

George Francis Leslie, b. 1856, eldest son of Major-General George Leslie, R.A. of the Mount, Dohagadee, co Down, commissioned North Down Militia 1876, regular commission, 1877. Served in the Afghanistan War as a  subaltern (action of Ali Musjid), served as a Major he served in the Sudan Campaign, commanding 'H' Company, 2nd Rifle Brigade at the battle of Khartoum. Served in Crete during the Turkish Uprising, 1898. Served in the Second Boer War; commanding the 4th Battalion Rifle Brigade from 17 February 1902. Twice Mentioned in despatches (London Gazette 23/6/1902 and  29/7/1902).  Employed on the Staff WW1, Brigadier-General, March 1917. Died on 10 May 1934, aged 78 years, at 12 Palmeira Mansions, Hove, Sussex.
