William Smith, Ensign in the 91st Foot, June 1810, Lieutenant July 1813. He served in the Peninsula 1812 -1814, and was present at the battles of the Pyrenees, Nivelle, Nive and Toulouse, and also at the battle of Waterloo. H.P. April 1817, and died either in 1823 (Challis) or at Dumfries in 1840 (Regimental History).
Military General Service, 8 clasps with Badajoz Lieutenant 27th Foot . Also served in North America from 1814 in the 1st Brigade of veterans of the Peninsular War under Major General Robinson and present at Plattsburgh
