Wounded at Delhi, 13/9/1857. The day preceding the final assault.

His papers  state ‘musket ball penetrating the outer angle of the left eye lodging under the upper eyelid injuring the nerves and sight of the eye’ or  ‘slight’ as the  published roll would have it.
