A particularly fine Naval General Service Medal clasp Java, Master’s Mate , later Commander, present capture of Mauritius 1810, commanded a boat at the reduction of Java, present with Captain Bowen for the expedition against the pirates of Palembang, 1811, and in command of a boat under Captain Drury in 1813 in a series of arduous operations against the Sultan of Sambas, in Borneo, whose fortifications were destroyed and depredations effectually checked. Strongly commended by Captain Drury for his services in these actions. Commanded a boat in the attack on Flushing and whilst serving aboard the Scorpion (18), at the capture of Bourgainville (18) ,taken after a long chase and running fight of 45 minutes, La Glaneuse of (16) , and Le Glaneur (10 )
Great War D.S.M. and dated second award bar group. The DSM awarded for services with Destroyer Patrol Flotillas aboard HMS Zinnia and covering the period of Zinnia’s participation in the Roger Casement. The bar awarded as gun-layer in a suface action with submarines (U-62)
