D.C.M. L.G. 11/3/1920 ‘For gallantry and devotion to duty, September to November 1918. During the advance from Arras to Mons, he always set a splendid example to his men.. In the fighting before Cambrai he repeatedly went through heavy shelling and machine gun fire to ensure that the crews had an adequate supply of ammunition.’
