H.C. Davies
Harold Casamajor Davies was born in London in February 1879, the son of Major T. H. Davies of Odiham Close, Hampshire.
2nd Lieutenant in the Welsh Regiment in March 1900, the action at Belfast (Queen’s Medal & 3 clasps; King’s Medal & 2 clasps). He was recalled from the Reserve of Officers in August 1914 and went to France in the 2nd Battalion, Welsh Regiment. He was killed in action on the Aisne on 26 September 1914, when his battalion was attacked by the enemy in strength. A fellow officer later described it ‘as a very mixed fight and bullets were coming from every point of the compass.’
Davies was buried in Vendresse British Cemetery.
