William Smith, Ensign in the 91st Foot, June 1810, Lieutenant July 1813. He served in the Peninsula 1812 -1814, and was present at the battles of the Pyrenees, Nivelle, Nive and Toulouse, and also at the battle of Waterloo. H.P. April 1817, and died either in 1823 (Challis) or at Dumfries in 1840 (Regimental History).
Waterloo Medal, Lieutenant, 23rd Foot, wounded in the left arm at Salamanca,and severely wounded gun shot wound in the right thigh at Waterloo whilst serving in the Grenadier Company
